First District 10 Meeting - May 14, 1988 - (Page 3)

Nominations for treasure were opened. Larry V nominated Lorraine S and Len Z seconded. Dennis L was nominated by Greg D and Dennis L Respectfully declined. Greg D was nominated by Marti F and Dennis L seconded. Greg motioned to close nominations and Larry V seconded. The first closed ballot resulted in a tie 5-5. The seconded closed ballot resulted in Lorraine 6 and Greg 4. Lorraine S elected district treasurer.

Extensive discussion followed regarding whether or not to go ahead and elect the committee chairperson or to wait until the next meeting. A motion was made and seconded to put off the elections of the committee members until the next monthly meeting.
The motion was split 5-5.

“Money matters” was discussed as respects the "assessment" of $25 per group and was clarified as being a suggestion. A motion was made by Ron L and seconded by Len Z that the start-up be $25 per group.
The motion passed unanimously. (the number of voting members dropped to 10. Linn W had to leave.)

A motion was made by Larry V and seconded by Ron L to authorize Lorraine S to open a checking account on behalf of the District.
The motion passed unanimously.

A discussion regarding the expenses involved in the special meeting followed. The expenses are to be taken care of in the future once the district has operating cash. John L had a bill for $13.68 for mailing expenses; $20 was owed for the use of the City Hall; and the Eagle River and Phelps donated the coffee and donuts.

Lorraine made a motion and Larry V seconded that the regular monthly district meetings be on the second Saturday of every month at 1:00p.m.
The motion passed unanmously.

Dennis L made a motion regarding rotating the location of the meetings and then withdrew the motion after discussion. It was decided to continue for the time at the Eagle River City Hall pending availabilty.

Greg D made a motion at 4:35 and Larry V seconded to adjourn the meeting.
