First District 10 Meeting - May 14,1988 - (Page 2)
Meeting resumed at approximately 1:45 p.m.
A motion was made by Jenny T and seconded by Greg D that the district follow the principles of AA, specifically the 12 steps, 12 Traditions, 12 Concepts, The service manual, and the actions of the General Service Conference. The motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Dennis L and seconded by Len Z that the district members follow option #3 in the Service Manual regarding voting eligibility and eligibility to run for DCM with a temporary modification. John L suggested a revision to the motion, which Dennis incorporated into his motion and Len seconded. The temporary modification involves Current GSRs are eligible to run and only current GSRs may vote. It was further agreed that the district elections are to be held at the district meeting immediately proceeding the fall area assembly elections for delegate and area officers.
The motion passed 9 yea, 1 nay
Jenny T made a motion and Sue R seconded that the district agreed to follow the third legacy procedure as outlined in the service manual. The elections of DCM and alternate with an optional procedure of a simple majority under closed ballot to be used for the remainder of the elections.
The motion passed unanimously.
Greg D made a motion and Len Z seconded that the present members go ahead and elect a DCM at this meeting.

Greg D made a motion and Larry V seconded that the district follow the district structure of officers and committee as follows;

The motion passed unanimously.
Nominations for DCM opened. Lorraine S nominated Larry V and Ron L seconded. Marti F nominated Ron L and Greg D seconded. Dennis L made a motion to close nominations and Jenny T seconded. The first vote was Larry 6 and Ron 4. The second vote was Larry 7 and Ron 3. Larry V was elected DCM.
Nominations for alternate DCM were opened. Dennis L nominated Ron L and Len Z seconded. Larry V nominated Lorraine S and Jenny T seconded. The first vote was Ron 6, Lorraine 4. The seconded vote was Ron 7, Lorraine 3. Ron L elected alternate DCM.
Nominations for Secretary were opened. Greg D nominated Marti F and Jenny T seconded. Dennis L nominated Greg D and Jenny T seconded. Linn W motioned the close of nominations and Larry V seconded. A closed ballot was used and the results were; Marti 9, Greg 1. Marti F elected distict secratary.
